There seems to be someone who will take care of the Trump Summit and Kim John

In the latest intervention, days before the historic summit in Singapore between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump, the International Campaign for the Eradication of Nuclear Weapons offered to cover expenses, including Kim's hotel bill.

The offer comes as a media report said North Korea, which lacks cash, may face difficulties in paying for its leader and the large delegation of its security and support staff at the June 12 summit.

The campaign, which last year won the Nobel Peace Prize, said it was prepared to spend the prize money on any venue or venue for the summit to succeed.

"The Nobel Peace Prize included a cash prize and we are offering to spend the prize money to cover the costs of the summit in order to support peace on the Korean Peninsula and for a world free of nuclear weapons," said Akira Kawasaki, a campaign leader.

"This is a historic meeting and a rare opportunity to help make the world free from the threat of nuclear weapons," she told Reuters by telephone from Tokyo.

Kawasaki presided over Pace Boat, one of the 10 groups leading the campaign.

The campaign's offer is in line with its work to rally support for the UN nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which has been ratified by 122 countries, including none with nuclear weapons or North Korea.

"It's not about paying the luxury rooms of the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or anyone else," Kawasaki said.

The North Korean leader chose to stay at the Fullerton Hotel during the summit, the Washington Post reported.

The presidential suite could cost the government at least 8,000 Singapore dollars ($ 6,000) a night, she said.

Kim's visit to Singapore involves logistical challenges such as the possibility of using a Soviet-era plane to transport him, his limousine car, dozens of security personnel and others.

Singapore said it would cover the costs of the summit to play its part in a successful meeting.

The value of the Nobel Prize varies from year to year and in 2017 the prestigious prize was worth 9 million Swedish crowns (1.02) million dollars.
