Automatically claim discounted accounts
With the a3a43b00, it's possible to use infestor in an automated fashion.
Also added a --minimum-rc
flag which checks the creator account's RC and stops if the account's RC is lower from that option.
Example:
$ export INFESTOR_ACTIVE_KEY=<active_key_of_creator>
$ infestor claim_account --creator emrebeyler --minimum-rc 50
This will claim one account in every execution until the creator account's RC (in percent) drops lower than %50 of the potential RC.
I have just set up a crontab entry to make the process automated. I would suggest using 80 for --minimum-rc
flag since it regenerates %20, daily.
hey i just found infestor yesterday (what a scary name!) and it's exactly what i'm looking for, i'm looking to create about 10 accounts a week for a project i'm doing for outreach, do you have any rough numbers of steem power depletion / RC used for something like that?
You can also check https://beempy.com/resource_costs

yeah just heard of ya beem a few weeks back. i'm starting to learn about javascript and python and i'll be certainly looking at using beem -- btw, i looked at the graphs, i have no idea what i'm looking at..
It's a dynamic cost based on different parameters. Currently:
You need roughly 5k SP to claim an account which will exhaust almost all RC mana. You can also use steeminvite.com to see the numbers.
brilliant! thank you for the data, this is exactly what i was looking for! thank you man, this gives me a target to head towards.
I'm considering switching over half of my meager stack of BTC to Steem to power up so I would be able to do this but am not sure of the incentive to do so.
So basically by having enough SP, instead of using Steem to create an account, you can use RCs to claim instead? Am I understanding this right?
I need to find an article with it broken down Barney style because it's not entirely clear to me. I'll probably need to revisit your article once I get a better idea.
Exactly. You pay with your RCs.
Haver another happy year, !BEER
