KEK Arun is a center of oil and gas and petrochemical industry development. The area is projected to absorb investments worth US $ 3.8 billion or equivalent to Rp50.5 trillion.
The establishment of KEK Arun Lhokseumawe is the initiation of a consortium of companies namely Pertamina, Pupuk Iskandar Muda, Pelindo I, and Aceh Regional Development Company. The area covers three zones with an area exceeding 2,000 hectares in Aceh's coast, the Arun Pertamina refinery complex, Dewantara village, and the Jamuan village.
The SEZ will also enable touching into the regasification and logistics sector of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as it has a port infrastructure
