Since 2010 Pindad has developed a lightweight combat car named Komodo. The design and concept of Komodo dragons refers to the American and French-made Humvee warfare cars.
In 2012, this light version of the combat car, began to be introduced to the public. Priced starting from Rp 2 billion to Rp 3 billion per piece, this war car has been produced 5 units and used by Kopassus (TNI) and Brimob (Police) units.
One of the variants is Battering Ram or Breaking variant. This type is used for special battles and anti-terror activities. Specially ordered cars by Kopassus were able to hit the wall as thick as 30cm and dikendarai when dark because it uses night vision camera system.
