Oil Well Exploded in East Aceh [Also feel sad]

The oil well exploded in Pasir Putih Village, Ranto Peureulak Sub-district, East Aceh, Aceh. A number of people died as a result of this incident.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning (04/25/2018). The well was known to belong to a local named Nazar. But the well was declared illegal.

According to the Head of Ranto Peureulak Subdistrict, Saiful, at first sparks flashed into the oil well. Sparks originally emerged from one of the traditional oil-mining drilling wells by residents.

Flames were struck by locals and three houses. Police are still investigating the cause of the explosion of illegal oil wells in East Aceh. The police will ask for expert information for the investigation.

The incident of this oil well explosion occurred at around 02.00 am, Wednesday (25/4). At that time, a number of residents were in the location to dig and take the oil in the well of Nazar. Suddenly, there was an explosion and a fire soared.

Role of Government and Citizens

The government and local residents participated in the effort to save the survivors to the nearest hospital and remove the bodies of casualties caused by the fire. Known to the death toll numbered 16 people and wounded 35 people. And there are some houses that were burned due to this disaster.
