Bireun, the third Capital of the Republic of Indonesia (1948)

Bireun pernah jadi ibu kota Republik Indonesia ketika jatuhnya Jogyakarta pada tahun 1948
Presiden Indonesia Hijrah dari Jogyakarta ke Bireun pada 18 Juni 1984. Selama seminggu Soekarno berada di Bireun mengendalikan Indonesia dalam keadaan Darurat.
Dan kini Bireun dijuluki dengan Kota Juang.

Bireun was once the capital of the Republic of Indonesia when the fall of Jogyakarta in 1948
President of Indonesia Hijrah from Jogyakarta to Bireun on 18 June 1984. For a week Soekarno was in Bireun controlling Indonesia in Emergency.
And now Bireun dubbed the City of Juang
