Pentingnya Menjaga Persatuan (1)

Unity is one word inherent with a group, society or organization made up of individuals. Man as an individual can not survive in solitude, he requires another individual or organization in order to meet the needs of life. In organizational view, human from birth to death requires the organization or others to meet their needs. In this case unity is a necessity, as opposed to others in society can cause it to be abandoned, ignored, and even destroyed. Therefore, inevitably every individual is a component of society that must act with status and role in accordance with the values ​​and norms embraced by a society or organization where it resides in it.

Persatuan merupakan satu kata yang melekat dengan suatu kelompok, masyarakat atau organisasi yang terdiri dari individu-individu. Manusia selaku individu tidak bisa bertahan hidup dalam kesendiriannya, ia memerlukan individu lain atau organisasi agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Dalam pandangan organisatoris, manusia sejak lahir hingga mati memerlukan organisasi atau orang lain untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya. Dalam hal ini persatuan adalah satu keniscayaan, karena berseberangan dengan orang lain dalam masyarakat dapat mengakibatkan ia ditinggalkan, tidak dipedulikan, bahkan dapat dihancurkan. Oleh sebab itu, mau tidak mau setiap individu merupakan komponen masyarakat yang mesti bertindak dengan status dan perannya sesuai dengan nilai dan norma yang dianut oleh suatu masyarakat atau organisasi dimana ia berada di dalamnya.

Speaking of unity, there are at least four concepts attached to it, namely diversity, division, conflict and peace. Furthermore, unity does not necessarily contain peace, and so does diversity, it does not always lead to divisions and conflicts. Social interaction is always dynamic so that in the association there is no friendship and perpetual hostility. The pattern of social relations is largely determined by the fulfillment of individual, group and organizational needs. Both of the most basic physiological needs, the need for security, the need for a sense of love and belonging, the need for appreciation to the needs of self-actualization, as well as other needs that appear in accordance with the development of civilization of a society. This explains that the unity of a group or society that can not meet the needs of its members is not in a peaceful state even though the conflict that leads to division has yet to surface.

Berbicara persatuan, paling tidak ada empat konsep yang melekat dengannya, yaitu karagaman, perpecahan, konflik dan perdamaian. Selanjutnya persatuan tidak serta merta mengandung perdamaian, dan begitu pula keragaman, ia tidak selalu membawa kepada perpecahan dan konflik. Interaksi sosial selalu dinamis sehingga dalam pergaulan tidak ada persahabatan dan permusuhan abadi. Pola hubungan sosial sangat ditentukan oleh pemenuhan kebutuhan individu, kelompok dan organisasi. Baik dari kebutuhan fisiologis yang paling mendasar, kebutuhan akan rasa aman, kebutuhan rasa Cinta dan memiliki, kebutuhan penghargaan hingga kebutuhan aktualisasi diri, maupun kebutuhan-kebutuhan lainnya yang muncul sesuai dengan perkembangan peradaban suatu masyarakat. Hal ini menjelaskan bahwa persatuan suatu kelompok atau masyarakat yang tidak dapat memenuhi kebutuhan para anggotanya tidak berada dalam kondisi damai walaupun konflik yang membawa kepada perpecahan belum tampak ke permukaan.

For the Indonesian people, the word unity has been heard and spoken very often. Even the word has been embedded in a pillar of the Pancasila-State philosophy. "Unity of Indonesia", has even been affirmed with the motto "Bhineka Tunggal Ika". This motto calls for the unity of the Indonesian people in the diversity of nations. However, at the level of practice unity is still difficult to be realized, except in the formality of state administration that explains the ethnic and territorial unity of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). This has caused Indonesia has not been able to win the competition of the world, let alone make a profit. For a long time (almost 73 years) the increase is only debt, not profit.

Bagi masyarakat Indonesia, kata persatuan sudah sangat sering didengar dan diucapkan. Bahkan kata tersebut telah disemat dalam satu pilar folosofi Negara-Pancasila. "Persatuan Indonesia", bahkan telah dipertegaskan dengan semboyan "Bhineka Tunggal Ika". Semboyan ini menghendaki adanya persatuan masyarakat Indonesia dalam keragaman bangsa-bangsa. Namun demikian, pada tataran praktiknya persatuan masih sulit diwujudkan, kecuali dalam formalitas administrasi negara yang menjelaskan suku bangsa dan teritorial Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI). Hal ini telah menyebabkan Indonesia belum dapat memenangkan persaingan dunia, apalagi memperoleh keuntungan. Sekian lama (hampir 73 tahun) yang bertambah hanyalah hutang, bukan untung.

Therefore, our task is not to eliminate conflict but to manage and transform conflict into a positive energy to build a positive peace within which there is prosperity and justice for the people and the natural surroundings.

Kehidupan kita memang nampaknya tidak akan luput dari gelombang dan riak-riak perpecahan, baik dalam organisasi sosial terkecil (keluarga) hingga organisasi formal besar (negara), tidak ada keharmonisan yang konstan. Dalam hal ini, Ralf Dahrendorf seorang sosiolog menyebutkan masyarakat selalu bermuka dua, yaitu konflik dan damai. Dan para sosiolog lainnya menyebutkan Bahwa konflik adalah satu keniscayaan dalam kehidupan sosial. Oleh sebab itu, tugas kita bukanlah menghilangkan konflik tetapi mengelola dan mentransformasi konflik menjadi satu energi positif untuk membangun perdamaian positif yang didalamnya terdapat kesejahteraan dan keadilan bagi masyarakat dan alam sekitarnya.
