Terrorist attack on ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY India

We the #Alig Fraternity of Aligarh Muslim University strongly opposed the Two Nation theory of M.A.Jinnah who is responsible for the Division of United India at the time of Partition (1947). Article 246 of the seventh schedule of Indian constitution declares Aligarh Muslim University as the 'Institution of National Importance'.

With all these the sad news is that, Aligarh Muslim University underwent terrorist attack Yesterday in the campus by some anti social elements hailing from right wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Hindu Yuva Vahini and then they tried to enter inside the campus by beating the AMU's security and passing by students, and also attempted to attack the Honorable Ex Vice President of India, Shri Hamid Ansari who was on a guest visit to AMU.
AMU students Union approached towards local police station for registration of complaints and FIR against those goons.The Police lobbed teargas shells and Lathi charge on the students due to which atleast 28 students are brutally Injured.

This is not the case of single day but part of the row of targeting the Universities. Few days back Vice-chancellor of AMU received a letter by a RSS worker in which he requested for the permission of opening the 'Shakha' of same Ideology.

As far as portrait of M A Jinnah is concerned, It is Traditionally hanging with the photographs of other life members on the walls of Students Union hall. Jinnah received life membership in 1938 and Clause 4(v) of AMU act 1920 passed by the parliament states that ' Subject to any orders which the court may make, the buildings which belongs to MAO college Aligarh shall continued to be known and designated by the names and styles by which they were known and designated immediately before the commencement of this Act'.

We are responsible for save and destroy the history whatever it is Good or bad. There are so many Hostels in AMU with the name of Britishers like Morrison Court, Mac Donell and above all Kennedy Auditorium. It doesn't mean we support British rule but it shows Dark or light history called history. No one can change it. Above all our Constitution provide us all rights to save the History no one can denied it.

Jinnah and AMU Students' Union Hall

Clause 4(v) of AMU Act-1920 states that:
" subject to any orders which the Court may make, the buildings which belonged to the Muhammadan Anglo- Oriental College, Aligarh shall continue to be known and designated by the names and STYLES by which they were known and designated immediately before the commencement of this Act "

Of course the building of AMU Students' Union (AMUSU) Hall always belonged to Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College and will always remain an integral part of the Aligarh Muslim University (Clause 34 of AMU Act 1920).

Having the portrait of life members of AMUSU in the Union Hall is practice adopted by student union since 1920. Clause 4(v) of AMU Act-1920 provides freedom to continue with same practice/STYLE.

Imagine a situation, if the AMU Students' Union would have been named after Jinnah as "Muhammad Ali Jinnah Students' Union Hall" before 1920, then even today the Union Hall is known by the same name. This is the beauty of AMU Act-1920, clause 4(v), which protects the soul of Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College.

Rather than writing to Vice-Chancellor for explanation, it would be better to read the AMU Act-1920 passed by the Parliament
