India is rich by culture, from that vast sea of festivals, here i bring you some great Festivals:-
1. Thrissur Pooram – Kerala
This festival takes place every year in Kerala and in particular because of the Vadakkunnathan temple finds Thrisuur. On Pooram, the day when the moon rises with Pooram stars and is the largest of all the Poorams. The festival has deep traditional and cultural implications with the people of the state and, therefore, is even more important. Mainly started by Raja ( King) Rama Verma and surrounding temples attended the festival. Festivals such as the Flag of Lifting (Kodiyettam), firecrackers, ornamental gualdrappe show, real fans, peacock feathers and sacred bells. Although being a Hindu festival, Thrissur Pooram borrowed heavily from local Kerala culture, According to the Malayalam calendar in the month of the Medam
2.Konark Festival – Odisha
This dance festival and sand art is linked to the Temple of the Sun of Konark, Odisha and is organized to advertise the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site. Firstly, organized in 1989, the festival has enormous cultural and traditional values. Located 35 kilometers northeast of Puri, the Temple of the Sun has millions of visitors throughout the year and has been declared a World Heritage Site. The extravagant and sophisticated architecture of gods, wagons, elephants and horses is a remarkable spectacle. The annual festival held at the open-air auditorium presents various forms of dance (Chau, Mohiniattam, Odissi, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Manipur and other forms of tribal dance), the art of sand, the back of the temple.
3. Ladakh Festival – Jammu & Kashmir
Ladakh Festival is actually a blend of festivities collectively as a whole. Some of these festivals are called Hemis Festival, Ladakh Losar and Sindhu Darshan. Ladakh Festival takes place in September and is organized by the State Tourism Department. The festival is of the same cultural importance as is traditional. Almost all parties take place in a monastery or in the vicinity of one. Summer turns the valley into a combination of lively colors, which remains throughout the festival. The festival of dance, art, processions, yak and dragon dancers and what does not.
4.Kila Raipur Sports Festival – Punjab
Popularly known as the "Rural Olympics" organized in Punjab and covers a wide range of sports. Kila Raipur is located in Ludhiana, Punjab and the sport festival is celebrated each year in February and thousands of people, including foreigners, are present at the event. In addition to sporting events, animals such as bulls, dogs, camels, donkeys, mules and other animals are also used. The goal is to cultivate individual strength to work in the fields and collect the specifications. The winner is assigned and respected.
5.Durga Puja – West Bengal
No doubt, the most famous Bengal festival, this event occurs during the period of 'Shukla paksha (Hindu calendar), which extends over several days, called Maha Panchami, Maha Shasti Maha Saptami, Maha Asthami Maha Navami and Bijaya Dashami. Mahalaya Amavasya marks the beginning of the holiday and during good days, people pay homage to their deceased relatives. The party ends with 'Kojagori Lakhsmi Puja', which is the worship of Dieu Lakshmi during a full moon evening. The party marks the triumph of good on evil. The party falls mainly in October.
