NSG service you should know

NSG (National Security Guard) . It is an Indian special forces founded in 1984 under Ministry of Affairs. The NSG is headed by the Director General of the Indian Police Service (IPS). NSG members/ commandos are popularly known as Black Cats because of the black drill cotton coveralls and helmets they wear.

I am posting this blog because of current Indian situation in J&K many people are still not aware of some of the Special Forces in India. And I see people have less respect for the our real HEROS media is crazy about bollywood and some none sense stuff of Politicans.

1. Currently, NSG has been stationed in the Kashmir Valley for quite sometime and is undergoing hard time training in the outskirts of the city.

2. The teams will be kept at the disposal of the J&K Police.

3. The move to deploy NSG commandos in Kashmir is because of several attacks and lost of our many jawans.

4. According to the report of SSB Crack, locals support the terrorist to hide. So the task of the NSG will be to find Terrorist from each building and house that's why they are amongst special forces .

Specialty of NSG Commando:

1. Handling hijacking situations in the air and on the land.
2. Bomb disposal
3. Post Blast Investigation (PBI)
4. Rescue of hostages in kidnap situations
5. Headshots
6. Target strike rate more than 85%
7. Trained without helmets and bullet proof jackets

There are two types of NSG Commando:
SRG(Special Ranger Group) : For protection of VIP's
SAG(Special Action Group) : For operations like Terrorist Attack, Rescue Operations etc.

How to Join NSG??
First of all any candidate cannot enter NSG directly as there is no direct recruitment. The selection are generally done from existing defence forces. In short, for eligilibity in NSG you should be soldier or a member of a military or paramilitary force. The candidate should not have any criminal records and not any punishment record in last three years of service.
Min. age 30 and should be a part of defence force for min. 2 years.
Only those with excellent performances are selected. Nearly 80% of candidate fails in 1st test, so we can imagine how rough the training is, not only physical test but also psychological test is assess.
Additional preparation recommended to join NSG , a candidate must be prepared sports activities, gym and martial arts lessons.

Training
The centre of NSG is located at Manesar in Haryana. The training is for 14 months. The first basic training is for 90days. Those who complete successfully are sent for nine months advance training.

This is how a NSG commando is made. Days and hours of hard training, dedication, responsibility, patience, courage, risking life, always ready for any emergency whether its time of festivals, holiday, mid night!
