Doctors in India pull seven teeth out of a month-old baby's mouth
Doctors in the state of Gujarat in India managed to remove 7 teeth from a month-old mouth.
"The baby is in good health," said the doctor, Mitt Ramatri, who oversees the Indian service at the BBC.
He explained that the process was done in two stages, as doctors removed four teeth in the first and teeth in the second phase.
The teeth were discovered in the baby's mouth days after he was born, after his parents took him to the pediatrician because of difficulties in breastfeeding his mother.
After examining it, he found a white membrane in his mouth.
"When I examined him, I found seven teeth," Dr. Ramtri told the BBC. "Sometimes teeth are found in babies but they do not grow, but they grow and grow."
He said he had never read about any similar situation, but he did not consider it abnormal.
The doctor resorted to surgery to remove the teeth of the baby because it was not solid if it broke into parts fell into the aircold and strangled him.
"I used to pray that my teeth should not fall before the operation," he said.
He revealed that the infant is now breastfed easily.
