in #india6 years ago (edited)

There is a historical temple of Lord Shiva (Shri Baijnath Mahadev) in Agar Malwa Nagar of Madhya Pradesh, which was restored by an officer of the then British army.

Last year in the form of newly formed and 51th district of the state, or in the history of Malwa, it is mentioned that the renovation of the temple of Baijnath Mahadev had been donated by Colonel Martin in 1883 to a tune of 15 thousand rupees. This inscription is also situated in the front of the temple.

Built in north and south Indian artistic craft, Shri Baijnath Mahadev is considered to be a miraculous deity. A vivid example of this was seen when Lord Shiva took the life of Colonel Martin, surrounded by the Pathania army 130 years ago in Afghanistan and returned home safely.

History has been described in the year 1879 that the British invaded Afghanistan. This war was administered or handed over to Lieutenant Colonel Martin of the British Cantonment of Malwa. Martin sent his wife regularly to the news of war and self-sacrifice and left Malwa.

During this time a time came when Martin's message stopped coming. His wife began to suffer many doubts. Once he sat on horseback and went to visit Malwa, then the conch from the Shri Baijnath Mahadev Temple came to the temple, attracted by sound and mantras.

The priest asked Lady Martin- Daughter, what are you looking for a big concern?

Lady Martin's bid has gone to my husband's war, and for some days, no news has come to him so I'm worried, so much so said Mrs. Martin Ro.

Then got started small Rudrai ritual Mrs. Martin at the behest of Brahmins and began to pray for the defense of her husband Lord Shiva and resolved to come to win her husband war summit would build the temple. On reaching the full moon day, a messenger ran away to Shiva temple. Lady Martin opened the panic-stricken envelope and started reading.

In the letter, her husband wrote ..- 'We were warring. We used to send news to you, but suddenly we were surrounded by the Pathania army. The soldiers of the British army started to die, we were surrounded by such a strange situation, and it became difficult to escape. In such a scenario, in the battleground, a yogi whose long legs and the three-headed weapon (trident) reached for hand. On seeing them, the Pathan soldiers ran away and the knees of our defeat suddenly turned into a victory .

It was written in the letter that all this was possible due to those Trishuld Yogi. Then he said, "Do not be afraid, I am Lord Shiva and your wife has come to protect you by being pleased with Shiva worship."While reading the letter, Lady Martin thanked God while praying with a head in front of the statue of Lord Shiva and tears of happiness with his eyes.

A few days later, when Colonel Martin Agar Malwa returned to the British cantonment and explained all the details to his wife, and in his wife's resolution, Colonel Martin renovated the temple of Shri Baijnath Mahadev in 1883 by paying a public donation of 15 thousand rupees.

Otherwise, this historic temple of Shri Baijnath Mahadev, situated on the bank of river Baanganga on the Jaipur road north of Malva, is considered as the Linga Nullah. Earlier this temple was in the form of a monastery and Tantrik Ahghauri used to worship here.

The sanctum sanctorum of the temple is 11x11 feet square and in the middle Shivling of the igneous stone is established. The peak of the temple is made of lime-stone which inside and outside are engraved with statues of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.

The height of this temple, about 50 feet high, is four feet high, golden kalash. In front of the temple is the huge gathering pavilion and two feet high and three feet long Nandi statue in the pavilion. Behind the temple, there is about 115 feet long and 48 feet wide Kamalkunda, where the spot with lotus flowers blooming looks even more romantic.

In addition to Mahashivaratri, there is a grand Shiva Mela held in Chaitra and Kartik month, and the devotees from far-flung journey arrive to worship the miraculous Shri Baijnath Mahadev's Darshan.
