India: Tech Mahindra to set up Blockchain centre
Tech Mahindra will be setting up is one of the top IT services company from India. It has launched a new "Blockgeeks" programme in it's Hyderabad campus to create a new breed of blockchain ready IT professionals.
According to ET:
In its first phase, the company will up-skill a batch of 20 eligible candidates to make them Blockchain-ready and will gradually roll out the programme globally.
Under the TechM BlockGeeks, eligible candidates will undergo comprehensive training in the lab post which they will be required to set up code, create smart contract and build solutions, thereby gaining technical proficiency in Blockchain technology.
They are targeting 3000 Blockgeeks who are ready to take on the world of blockchain to build enterprise solutions at Tech Mahindra. Their R&D arm Makers Lab will facilitate training to all these new engineers in the making.
The company has over 112,000 employees in over 90 locations around the world and is a top MNC from India. It deals with over 900 clients across various verticals. Many of it's clients are Fortune 500 companies located around the world.
If you're an IT professional working in the IT services industry looking to move to blockchain technology solutions with an Indian MNC then Tech Mahindra might be the place to move to within a year or so from now.
It's great to see big players from India warming up to blockchain technology and trying to find more mainstream applications for it by setting up R&Ds for enterprise grade solutions built on blockchain.
Blockchain technology is starting to find popularity amongst large corporates in India. It's likely that India will produce a large number of engineers capable of working on various kinds of blockchain technology and smart contracts in the near future.

It's good to see that Tech Mahindra is promoting the use of blockchain technology in our country. I hope that RBI should also support Digital Currency and blockchain technology in India.
