In India the media and entertainment industries are growing up very rapidly.In the last five years it has been increasing by 82.4%,and the industry was worth Rs 1.67 lac crore in 2018.
India has emarged as the 2nd largest pay tv market after china, with tv penetration reaching 66% of the 29.8 crore tv households in 2018-a 7.7% increase over the previous broadcast India survey in 2016.
The growth drivers for tv include digitalization of cable services,higher uptake of HD channels, growth of OTT platforms aided by the rising smartphone penetration and high speed data adoption.According to the FICCI and EY Report 2019 print media industry accounted for the 2nd largest share with a revenue of Rs 30,550 crore in 2018 ,resistering a growth of 0.7%.
