Overview of Talgo Train
Talgo is Spanish Train Manufacturer which manufacturer Intercity, Standard and High Speed Train. Talgo use one Bogie to connect two coaches. Indian Railway use combination of two bogie and one coach due to easy assembly and removal. let's know what is Bogie and what is Coach in Railway Term. The rectangular box in which passenger sit known as Coach and spring like suspension and wheel beneath the Coach known as Bogie. it also help to shift coach of one train to other train. you may have seen coach of Rajdhani express on Duranto and vice versa.
On the other hand Talgo use one Bogie to connect two to Coaches which reduce operating and manufacturing cost at same time make assembly and removal difficult, but still Indian railway shown interest in Talgo Trains. Indian Railway invited Talgo to conduct trail in India. Trail run of Talgo conducted in India during September 2016 between Mumbai and Delhi, after trail its found that Talgo has to modify their coaches as per Indian Station platform which Talgo agreed but still Indian Railway rejected Talgo Train project due to following mail two reason.
Talgo not agreed on Transfer of Technology
Indian Railway was interested in Talgo Trains if Talgo agree on transfer of Technology but Talgo not agreed on it which mean importing coaches from Spain would be very costly.
