3 Billion Streamed Artists Seeb + American Authors New Collaboration
Brooklyn-based multi-platinum group American Authors and world-renowned Norwegian production duo, Seeb, team up to bring you a brand-new track “Best I Can” available today via Island Records. The romantic, upbeat dance-inspired track arrives just as American Authors close out their 34-city tour. “Best I Can” will see its national TV debut on LIVE with Kelly and Ryan on Monday, March 2nd.
“’Best I can’ is about giving your entire heart to the person you love most. When you strip away the material objects and glamour in the world, all that really matters is the truest love we share.” – American Authors
“When Zac and American Authors reached out to us to hear if we were up for doing a song together, we started to play around with ideas and tried to figure out how our two different worlds could meet. We often like to work with artists and musicians who are outside the musical genre where we normally live, whether it would be acoustic singer-songwriter based music, indie, electronica or even rock.
This song feels like a natural blend of where American Authors come from musically with their unique instrumentation containing a lot of guitars and even banjo’s. We had a great time with this record. It’s probably not a collab that either of our fans are expecting, but that just makes it so much more fun to do.” - Seeb
ABOUT AMERICAN AUTHORS:
American Authors – Zac Barnett (vocals), James Adam Shelley (guitar/banjo), Dave Rublin (bass), and Matt Sanchez (drums) – hail from the four corners of the U.S. but came together at Boston’s Berklee College of Music in 2006. They soon left Berklee, moved into a small apartment in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, and started a band, releasing a series of indie EPs over the course of five years. After lighting up SiriusXM Alt Nation radio with their debut #1 single “Believer” and attracting (what became) over 8 million YouTube views for the viral “Believer” video they created with their cell phones, they were signed to Island Records in 2012. With the success of the inescapable and instantly recognizable “Best Day Of My Life,” their debut LP Oh, What A Life went Top 5 on the Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts, Top 15 on the Billboard 200, and was RIAA certified gold. “Best Day Of My Life” was a 3x-platinum career-defining track that went on to reach #1 on Hot AC and Top 5 at Pop while receiving countless film, television, video game, and sports syncs. Their second album, 2016’s What We
Live For included the title tune along with “I’m Born to Run,” and the sync friendly hit “Go Big or Go Home.” Seasons arrived in 2019, containing “Deep Water,” “Say Amen” featuring Billy Raffoul, and “I Wanna Go Out.”
ABOUT SEEB:
Starting with Seeb’s truly game changing remix of Mike Posner’s ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ which was the second most played song globally in 2016 and has over 3 Billion Streams, through to their work with the likes of Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Tove Lo and OneRepublic, chances are that you’ve heard the music of Seeb or at least their influence –even if you may not already be aware of who they are. Simen Eriksrud and musical partner Espen Berg formed Seeb through their love of defying genre and chasing the most fresh and original sounds. They scored a Hype Machine No.1 with their remix of Kiesza’s ‘Cut Me Loose’ and before long, Chris Martin invited them to remix Coldplay’s ‘Hymn For The Weekend.’ The duo also gave a new sense of colour to Taylor Swift’s ‘Delicate’, and OneRepublic asked them to collaborate on ‘Rich Love’ and their adventurous and runaway original tracks with the likes of Skylar Grey and Dagny had them amassing over 5 billion streams in just over two years.
