Motherhood is very powerful and way more than birthing children. A mother also plays the role of raising children, nurturing, supporting ( emotionally, spiritually and morally) and also teaches them about values, responsibility and most importantly, discipline. All these are great sacrifice in which a mother can make to satisfy her offsprings.

I will use the contest tips as guidelines;

Question 1: What is the definition of motherhood in your opinion? How necessary motherhood is for a girl after marriage? Share your views on this

Like I said in my introduction, motherhood is far beyond bringing another soul to the world. I will define MOTHERHOOD as a selfless sacrifice, love, devotion and care in which a woman gives out through the act of nurturing and supporting. This selfless love can be extended to anyone around her, it must not necessarily be directly to the biological children only.

Many women display these characteristics of a mother before even getting married. The society already structured motherhood to be a natural step for every woman after marriage either you decide to give birth biologically or through adoption, the actual responsibilities that should be carried out as a mother are very much NECESSARY to the children.

Motherhood is a choice, many who feel they can't cope or go through the lane of being a mother shouldn't allow the pressure in the society to push them to being a mother. Being a mother through pressure will only lead to raising damaged and toxic children.

Question 2: How important is the desire of a girl in the decision to become a mother? Sometimes due to social pressure many girls are forced to choose motherhood, share your views on this

Motherhood is purely personal decision. In this present era, girls don’t get forced into motherhood anymore. It either a desire when ready or a silly mistake.

However, most girls still found themselves in a society where there is so much of expectations, criticism and pressure from families. All these pressure are due to a woman's biological clock most times.

Question 3: What do you think how a husband should take care of his wife during maternity?

Maternity is one of the toughest part of motherhood and it is the hardest race to run alone. Having a husband who is supportive ( emotionally and physically) during this period is indeed a BLESSING.

Apart from being supportive as a partner, I think a husband should be patient and apply good understanding. Pregnancy comes with serious changes, facing it together with love, kindness and full time involvement can make the journey memorable and also makes the woman happy and strong during her 9 months.

Question 4: Share your thoughts on how a husband and wife should prepare not only physically but also mentally to take on the responsibilities of parenting

Parenting is not an easy task. The best thing partners should do for themselves is being emotionally, spiritually, financially, physically and mentally ready to birth children.

Couple needs to communicate properly, understand each other and work as a team to raise children of good value.

Parents needs to let love grow in their home before bringing any child to the world. It is not advisable to groom/ nurture children in a broken home which is why couple needs to be all-round ready to give their best.
