KP govt to spend Rs1.38b on renovation of Arbab Niaz Stadium
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhunkhwa government will upgrade Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium to international standard and earmarked Rs1.38 billion. The government has already completed renovation of Peshawar Sports Complex.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran made the announcement while talking to media after inaugurating Peshawar Sports Complex.
He said that the renovation of Arbab Niaz Stadium would include revamping of ground, refurbishment of spectators’ sitting areas and a reconstruction of accommodation facility for players.
The PTI chief said that KP government would construct 100 grounds in the province as it had promised after making government in KP and work on most of them were underway.
To a question, he said he never used KP government helicopter for his personal work and welcomed National Accountability Bureau inquiry in to the matter.
Commenting on selling of vote during Senate election, he warned his party MPAs that party workers would stage a sit-in outside their houses if anyone of them found guilty of selling his vote and claimed that he was offered Rs400 million without naming anyone as to who offered him the amount and for what.
He came down hard upon Mian Nawaz Sharif and he was now using Parliament to malign judiciary as he has been doing in public gatherings.
PTI chief warned him (Nawaz) against any such attempt and said the whole nation would take to roads. The reporters congratulated him for his third marriage however he refused to comment on it further.
