Patterns - Image Skills Contest #3
This is my entry for the Image Skills Challenge by @bluefinstudios
This week's challenge is on Patterns
Patterns are everywhere in nature, in our cities and towns, and the world around us. Simple repeats, colours, and natural patterns. Create an interesting composition in your image using Patterns
Entry 1
These are actually mirror squares creating a pattern on chicken wire ;) Along with the shadows and light cast in the room, it made for an interesting tapestry from any angle.
Entry 2
Pixelated squares with mathematical sequences of numbers
Entry 3
This was a reflection from an art installation by Anila Quayyum Agha (Pakistani-American artist). Not of the installation itself.
Entry 4
This is an upclose photograph of a water fountain and the pattern created.
Photographs taken with Nikon D70 and Nikon P900
I hope other Steemians jump in and participate in this wonderful photography contest. I enjoy the fact that I am learning something more about photography while participating. Give it a try!

Wow, you surprised me, ASAPers! I am just so tickled and very thankful for the support.
Entry 3 Full installation by Anila Quayyum Agha. A single light bulb sits in the middle of the cube.
Wow!! Now it makes more sense. I didn't scroll the comments before i commented
#4 Full fountain view
Wow again!!
Beautiful!
Nice photos @youhavewings! I love patterns like this; they're so mesmerizing to me :)
Hi @lynncoyle1 Thank you so much. I love patterns, too - I usually gravitate towards patterns in nature.
Those are great shots, I think the fountain is probably my fav. It's cool to see the full photos as well, it makes one appreciate your editing skill.
Thank you, @coinsandchains!
Interestingly enough, there was no editing involved in the fountain photo. I had taken a large series of them both up-close and at a distance. I just thought it was cool the way the water didn't flow into a solid curtain but instead created this consistent pattern and wave. A mystery.
That first one especially is so beautiful! Great eye! <3
Thank you, @phoenixwren
You're simply the best!!!! 😍
The photos are beautiful but your eye is just incredible!!!! Amazing how you framed these photos and actually SAW the patterns and zoomed in on just the right angles!!! Love love love!!!
Thank you, @dreemsteem! Such supportive words.
All very cool!
I love them!
Thank you so much, @bluefinstudios :) Means so much.
This is mind bending stuff! I've no idea how on earth you'd ever create that first image out of chicken wire....i just don't get it!! Very cool interpretation and capture with each of these subjects. Best of luck in the contest!! Congratulations on having your post selected by the @asapers! You're already winning!! 😊
Thank you, @yogajill It is mind bending! lol Which is why I had to exam the details more. Just sheets of chicken wire with mirror tiles, twisted. If you look at entry #3, you can see the hallway where these forms were at a distance.
I was so surprised by the ASAPers selection! Definitely a great feeling.
These look cool. I like the first one the most. I didn't actually think it was "real" (as in made of physical objects) until I read the description. I thought it was a 3D model at first. It looks pretty cool, especially considering it is made out of quite simple components.
Thank you, @birchmark YES - just simple components - stretches the imagination
