Water Taxi ‘ THE ABRA’ illustration

Crossing the Dubai Creek by boats is a popular and a common mode of transportations for many residence and tourists.
The boats used are small motorised water taxis with a A roof above your head called the Abras

Forget about fancy cruises and yachts! This is the best way to get around the creek. Its about 1 Dihram per ticket ! Can you believe that ?

You have an option to even charter and Abra ! The fare is given to the driver directly.

I stayed with my aunt and uncle, who were sweet enough to put up with me and my tantrums whenever i threw them, stay pretty far from the old city of Dubai. It took me an hour and a half to reach the old city of Dubai.

I spent the the morning at the creek just overlooking the morning hustle of the city. People running into cabs.. busses.. metros watching their cellphones. And then there is me sitting on a bench sipping on water observing all this just so that i can make a living by watching them.
I spent a couple of hours just sitting and doodling the basic composition on a small note book that i carry around everywhere.
I had people ask me questions like what i was doing here. I did have a tiny crown around me as i sketch.

TO be honest i love seek king for attention :P This is applicable only as far as My illustrations are concerned xD

So that’s how i spent the next one hour.. speaking to random people that sat next to be and watched me draw.

I did not experience the taxi ride even though this was my third time here !! But i was there on a time schedule. I had to get to other Places so i can make the most our of this trip!
