Scavenger Hunt! IFC finals - first round
The time has finally come for the Sweet 16 in the @ifc contest. I joined in on the contest a little late and had no intentions nor did I even think of making it into the very first Top 16. I originally started the contest as a way to have fun and engage with community a little more. I have to say that I did accomplish my goal already because I have met some great people and had the pleasure of reading some great content written by them.
This contest is very fun and I am glad that it was started. This is just the first of hopefully many to come and I am beyond excited to be included in this community.
I haven't been on Steemit much lately but I made it a point to keep track of the contest and participate. I'm pretty thankful I did make it into the Top 16 though because it gave me something to finally make a post about! This first round is a scavenger hunt. We had a list of items that we had to go out and find in the real world, away from our screens. We also had to include a paper with the date on it so you guys know it's real.
I'm pretty slack these days because I started working after being a stay at home mom for four years and let me tell you, 6:30a comes so much sooner than like 10a. So, my date on the paper is from a few days ago and I finally just now had the chance to upload them. Better late than never I suppose.
Steemit can be a really fun place once you get out there and explore what is really going on. You would be surprised what you can get yourself into.
Take this next picture for example, this was one of this items on our list:
Wizard Hat
I don't have a wizard hat or even know where to find one so I did the next best thing and I made one! After making it, I obviously needed a model. I couldn't think of anything better to model this hat than my boy Joe.
Clouds
I was about halfway through my list of things to hunt and my paper got wet. Now it has a cool watercolor effect to it because I was too lazy and to invested in what I was doing to make a new one. The clouds were very pretty that day at least.
Animal
I actually have a ton of animals but since we were aloud to use items that were not real, I wanted to take advantage of that on this one. I got this picture at a local Indian Pow Wow last year and I think it is so beautiful!
Pyramid
This was my mother in laws. She left behind a beautiful collection of items like this one. If it weren't for this, I don't really know what I would have done about this item on the list.
Garden
I could have taken a picture of a really big, very beautiful garden but my fairy garden is my favorite so I chose this instead.
Plush Toy
This bear is 23 years old. Fluffy was given to me by my grandmother right before she passed away. I was three years old.
Guitar
I had to really work on the scavenger hunt part for this one. This guitar has been packed away for several years and I was finally given a reason to dig it out. I still didn't clean it though...
Bridge
Thomas was nice enough to pose right before heading down his track.
Gold Coin
I had to do a little hunting for this one too but I finally got one! This was actually like a two day wait which was slightly part of the hold up.
Star & Tattoo
Two for one deal here. This is one of my many tattoos. Luckily this made it to where I had one less photo to upload.
Reflection
This could have worked for the clouds as well but I had already taken the one of the clouds and this one is pretty cool looking. So this is a reflection in water.
Mask
It was between this and Spiderman. Ninja Turtles was the winner in the end.
Rainbow
Chakras are the perfect thing when it comes to rainbows. This is my Chakra cloth.
Crystal
I was super happy to see this one on the list. I absolutely love my crystals!
Castle
I didn't want to post a real picture of my castle and make anyone jealous, this Candy Land castle will have to do.
Aliens/UFO
The Men In Black won't let me post any public pictures of the alien I have in my basement so my four year old drew a picture of it instead. I am slightly obsessed with Aliens so she draws them often. She had just so happen to draw these which she calls Aliens shortly before I needed a picture of one.
So there you have it. This round was so much fun and I hope to see this one next season! Good luck to all of the contestants and if you are just stopping by, I hope you enjoyed checking out this scavenger hunt as I went along.
Please take the time to also check out this recent post written for @greetersguild. This is a great way to stay updated on what's happening in your Steemit community.

Seems such an interesting contest and very creative in finding some of them :)
It is an interesting contest! We do all different kinds of challenges at the IFC, but this one in particular.. The photo scavenger hunt that kryptocek came up with, is pretty awesome in my opinion! And so far we've got a LOT of positive feedback from the players, they seem to be having a lot of fun with this one. :) I hope to do these again many times in the future.
@apolymask It is such a cool idea, I wasnt aware of IFC maybe I should check it out
I can definitely agree with this! I felt the same way from the start and It's definitely played a major part of me staying on steemit and having stuff to post about!
Glad to hear you've enjoyed being a part of our community. :) We're happy to have you with us when you're not too busy! Thanks for playing and for the positive feedback! :D And.. Nice work on the photo hunt!
I was almost going to have to buy some glue and paper and stuff to make a hat, that thing was hard to find, not even in a tabletop game hobby store could I find one. I did find a picture of one finally in a fantasy coloring book. Who would have thought that would be so hard to find, and well a mask as well. Nice picks you made.
The ninja turtles mask is great! You should have also shown the Spiderman!
These scavenger hunts are awesome!! Thank you for taking us along with you! Great job on finding a wizards hat😄
@magicalmoonlight wow it's so cool so many different ways of showing IFC lol can tell you placed a lot of thoughts into it! Great work. Anyhow I had been away from Steemit for a month and returning again now...it's been a crazy busy month. Upvote your post to support and stay connected!
Oh I like that pyramid. Colorful. ♥ What's a chakra cloth for? And for real, you have a gold coin? Whoa!

Nice work @magicalmoonlight. I love the picture of your boy Joe!
I just officially went through your entry and.. Great job! You got them all. What a cute lizard wizard! :D I can't help but be curious now if there's somehow some weird connection between those words, I think I need to look up the etymology of lizard..
" "lizard," a word of unknown origin, perhaps from PIE root *leq- "to bend, twist" [Klein]. Ending probably influenced by words in -ard."
Looks like we may never know!
That's a cool picture of those wolves indeed! And I love your fairy garden. :D
Lol! You have me extra curious now!
Thanks for the great entry! Well done!
PS.. Looks like you're up against warpedpoetic and he got started late, he still has time to get his entry in, but it's looking like you might be one of the ones who wins the first round without a tie. Guess we'll see! Good luck in the contest!
