IFC S1 R31 - Entry : Dreams
Sometimes, not too often, I dream. There is one recurring dream I have about a house in a high walled garden … the house itself resembles my family home which we moved into when I was 17 and remained the family home until I was 32 (I moved away when I was 19).
The strange thing about the house in the dream are the two additional bedrooms, hidden away at the back, which seem to be forgotten and are unused … these two rooms are the compelling aspect of the dream. The doorway to these rooms is in my parents' bedroom which in reality was at the end of the house. These dream rooms are comfortably furnished, although there are no windows. No one seems to use these rooms, it's almost as if no one is aware of them. Although fairly dark, the first room is warm and inviting, while the second room which is two steps down, is a little less warm. In the dream I always enjoy being in these rooms, and always go there on my own. Nothing else happens in the dream, but the rooms seems so real.
Although there is nothing unusual about the dream itself, the recurrence of the dream is. I can't remember when I first started having this dream, but it is after my parents passed away (mum 15 years ago, and dad 10 years ago). I haven't had the dream in a while, but remember the hidden rooms well ... dark, comfortable and welcoming.

Interesting dreams! I know that dreams should be interpreted by the dreamer, but I see this as an unrealized aspect of yourself...a compartment in the mind, a talent or gift...or perhaps your mind's way of taking a break in this comfortable space you created.
That's a very interesting interpretation @youhavewings. It's quite possible, as I always go into these rooms by myself. Thanks for reading.
Perhaps, it was simply your parents letting you know that they are comfortable, and that they appreciate the place in your heart that you have built them. Or it could be the boogie man lying in wait under the bed to go boo. But I think more likely parents letting you know, they are fine, and will be waiting for you.
On a side note, what a cool link that cheetah bot found.
Very comforting @bashadow. I hope they are comfortable and in a tranquil place. As for the boogie man, I used to be afraid when I was young, I used to jump onto my bed from a distance so it couldn't grab me :) Yeah I like your first idea more, the rooms are warm and comforting.
As for cheetah bot, what's that about? I was unsure about opening any link, will give it a go. Thanks for reading my dream.
@cheetah bot is a plagiarism bot, if it finds something it's programming says may be copied and stolen work, it give a small upvote, and then @steemcleaners use that vote to track the post, they come, they look, they decide if you or a poster committed plagiarism(which you did not) , if they determined you did they will either give you a verbale(typed warning) or just flag you, or do both. Multiple plagiaristic activities will put you on @cheetah blacklist bot and you will get an auto flag on everything you post along with a not so nice comment, until you clear things up with @steemcleaners.
@cheetah bot is not perfect, that is you there is always human follow up. The link that @cheetah bot thought you copied was a dream interpretation site that just happened to talk about empty rooms in dreams, kind of like how your dream was. I just thought it was an interesting link. It was safe to follow.
That was just to try and lighten the mood on my part, sometimes I am not good at that. Boogeyman dreams are from childhood, then teenage years only meaning something different than childhood, like Boogie Nights and dancing dreams.
You don't need to worry about the cheetah bot, steemcleaners saw and ignored.
Wow thanks for the cheetah bot explanation. I read the link and was amazed that these dreams are common :) I'm also a bit disappointed too as I thought it was special! If I ever have the dream again, there might be a cheetah jumping out at me from under the bed!
I used to have a lot of reoccurring dreams but they haven't showed themselves in a while. Their hidden meanings of dreams are so mysterious. It often feels like we are being pulled into another reality instead of simply creating one in our heads.
Right! It's very real, not like some fantasy we conjure up to escape to.

I often dream of returning to my childhood home. There are extra rooms for me as well. The dreams stick with me for some reason, more so than other dreams.
I also have a dream about my current home where there is an extra set of rooms, unused like the rest of the family never go there.
It's so amazing that you have these dreams as well, I wasn't aware that my dream is not unusual perhaps because I don't usually talk about it. I never dream about my current home in which I've lived for 17 years now.
Actually your dream was an eye opener for me as well. I use to dabble in dream interpretation, but never ran across that one. And the little extra link in the comments was pretty neat. Lots to think about for sure
Very interesting! Dreams sometimes tell you a hidden story. I wonder what its trying to tell you.
I actually feel quite happy about this dream now that I've written about it. I've become aware that it is not an unusual dream, and that it could have some positive interpretations! I'll probably never have the dream again now that it's out there! :)

Definitely an interesting dream, and reading through the comments was even more interesting! Hmm... Wow.. I wonder what it all means! Glad to see you were able to pull some interesting info from sharing this through the contest! Life sure is strange, especially in the dream world! But, there's a lot to learn too and it's often very beautiful as well. Thanks for the cool and unique entry!
