New Idea, Same Perspective, Worse Result

Although there have been numerous stories about former liberals being “red-pilled” sometimes even going as far as switching allegiances to the conservative side of the allies, I do not find myself to be completely apart of this ongoing migration of young intellectuals. Now, this is not to say that I did not find myself drawn further from the democratic allegiance that is so prevalent in most of the black culture. I too have always felt at odds with the stereotypical yet contradictory mindset of black culture (i.e. heavy religious culture/ devotion to a progressive political movement). I tended to shy away from anything that resembled the classic political minded stereotypes, but it was not until the 2016 presidential election that I begin to truly understand the nature of almost every “oppressed” group and the subsequent bad guys, chiefly, white males.

Now I was not completely void of being affected by the mindset most prevalent in my culture, typically acknowledging both a belief in God and a downright liberal mindset on political issues. It was not until I cut the cord completely by joining the United States Air Force that I began to see the world for what it was versus what I wanted it to be. The initial realization came while serving. I had to relearn what is truly important in life as an adult in America. The constant struggle is a part of life itself, but the difference is that an adult assumes the responsibilities need to become dependable members of society. It is this dependability that solidifies one with the respect that so many “oppressed” groups desire more than anything.

These, of course, sound oddly like the ideas of conservatives but I think such a shift will only serve as a temporary fix to our generations true problem. Look at us, we cower away from adversity, we protest the very people who seek to tell us the nature of our actions and its destructive path. We hop from one futile dream to another slinking away the second we face the slightest adversity. This result is only proper given the nature of our intellectual leaders who are led by their destructive need for a Utopian society. I say, that we must learn to understand the true nature of our existence. In a sense, we accept the hand we are dealt with and make the most of our opportunities. Rather than frowning at our adversity and subsequently shouting it down like we are conjuring a spell to cast away the unwelcome news, the outlook should be to take careful consideration of the total situation. No matter the outcome we at least understand the factors that tilted the game in its final direction.

To change the perspective in which you have grown so accustomed to is no easy feat as it so appealing to get lost in the crowd feeling tied to something bigger than yourself. However, it is so easy from that crowd to change into a mob that you, in turn, will follow because well, your ideas had the best intentions. This Utopian mindset, that a certain lifestyle will provide you the golden answer to life, is indicative of a childish understanding of how reality operates. The only outcome of taking such a position on life is resentment towards other people and later towards your very existence, the pathway to pessimism and nihilism. Such is the case when you expect things of life that cannot be promised. Instead of perceiving life as something that we can fully control, we come to understand that nature exists in a more complex manner. It is not to say that we are not able to reconfigure things, but we at least recognize that everything does not always bend as we wish it. My generation must put this foreign idea of Utopianism and return to the ideas of our forefathers. Liberty and freedom, that is what one must understand about this country, obedience to a political faction is not an adherence to these principles. This shift to the right is not the answer to our future survival as a nation it is only the continuation of the same issue. Stand on your own two feet, think with your own reasoning ability, and claim only that which you can argue substantially. If a man can do that, what need does he have with a political or social ideology?
