Christian identity: For not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God's people. Romans 9:6

Because of the richness of his theological thought expressed in his epistles, many Christian authors have wondered if Paul is the true founder of the Christian faith, his epistles are the first written texts of the New Testament to be known by the christian scholars. And among his writings stands out the epistle to the Romans, a letter addressed to a spiritual community that he was able to meet after his third missionary trip to the pagan world.
The apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans taught about the true Christian identity, an identity different from that of the followers of the law of Moses, because Jesus gave a new promise no longer based on the possession of the land but on the inheritance of an incorruptible kingdom with the spiritual gift of eternal life. According to Paul's theology, baptism in water means a change of citizenship no longer earthly but heavenly, because life according to the Spirit and its free grace frees men from passions, material desires such as lust, and ignorance, the first baptism is the passage of a life full of sins to a life of righteousness ("Whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them" Matthew 7:12).
This is why Paul spoke of the new children of Israel according to the spirit and not according to the flesh, and thus affirmed in his letter to the Romans: "For not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God's people" Romans 9:6. And then the apostle continued: "This means that Abrahm's physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. Only the children of the promise are considered to be Abraham's children" Romans 9:8.
According to the Christian faith, being an heir of the promise means the blessed life following Jesus as savior, and through it men are children of Abraham according to the spirit. Ultimately, Christian identity means accepting the mystery of the spiritual gifts through God's grace, because it is only in this manner that men can approach the way, the truth, and the life.
