Quadrant Protocol - Data Decentralised
There has been a plethora of new advances in the field of technology and we see newer advances each and every day. Some are not that of a game-changer, while other have the potential to change the way we perceive tech currently. All focus is on getting the technology to masses and to make it cheap and easier to use, while still introducing newer features.
The current buzzwords for this decade or so is Artificial Intelligence, Big-Data, VR/AR, Machine Learning, IoT and so on. All these are huge fields in themselves and they encompass a lot of other fields that are currently in development. We have always had AI, it's what powers the NPC in a game or its rudimentary version is used in automated processes previously.
But we are reaching a stage where we have the knowhow and the prowess to design and create a AI that mimics the human intelligence or helps process lots of raw data into information as we request it.
Recently, you would've had the chance to view Google's AI- Duplex and the advance that they'd made in neural networks and voice processing was immense and so advanced that many called it future tech in the present. It was the first voice assistant to clear the Turing Test. Many were even skeptical to the fact that their AI's voice sounded so human-like that they felt the other party should know that they were speaking to an AI and not a person.
All this advancement was possible by Google because it had access to all the data it needed. Being the world's largest Search Engine has its benefits. They have one of the largest repositories of data on Earth and we all know the saying that "Information is Wealth". That saying is true in one form the other.
But this makes it possible for only Google or any top player in their field to have access to large amount of data for perfecting AI and this prevents other smaller companies with efficient plans and programs to not be able to have adequate data to test and work with. This creates an uneven playing field, where the gap between haves and have-nots keeps increasing. This also prevents competition and introduces monopoly over it. Competition brings the best out of us and without it, the prices would be in the hands of few companies. Innovation comes in the times of competition and pressure, not when one is content with what they have.
Quadrant Protocol Platform
They propose to change the way data is treated and lets them decentralise it, rather than letting a handful of companies have monopoly over it or access it. This helps even the low level or small players in the field of machine learning and AI have a level playing field, increasing competition and bringing about innovations that the big companies couldn't. Innovation can come from anywhere. No one thought a company that was started in the garage of their home would go on to be one of the most biggest and profitable business of all time.
ICO & Team
They haven't announced their ICO yet. They plan on powering their platform by Ethereum based ERC20 Token. The project is at its development stages and they state that much of the details will be released soon. It requires for you to whitelisted and go through KYC to participate in the ICO. They also have a private sale for early adopters to participate in but it requires you to expressly contact them for it.
Their team consist of Mobile Data Experts, Blockchain Devs, Big-Data Analysts, Software Devs, Data Scientists, Marketing Lead, Front-end and Back-end Devs. They are backed by some of the industry leaders in cryptocurrency big data, blockchain platform and seasoned business leaders. They've also managed to partner with many players in the field as sponsors and data providers.
Conclusion
The AI industry is somewhat similar to the Processor Manufacturing field, where two companies, Intel and AMD hold monopoly over the industry and even AMD hasn't been able to compete with the former. I believe this platform has the potential to bring about a change in the field of AI, making the process of innovation speed up from the current standstill due to the lack of competition. This lack of competition can be solved by providing even the smallest of the players in AI and machine learning with the tools and data that they require, creating a level playing field.
