SWIPE - User Data Monetised
The Internet as a whole has been in development by, for and from its users and we are the ones who provide as well as use the data in order to improve the system as well as provide an optimised and personalized user experience.
There was a time when man power or money was considered as power and wealth. But the times have changed and we are in an age where we consider information and data to be wealth and it is what powers most of the Internet or any industry based on providing digital services.
This data is being given or generated by the users of the platform and most of the times this data and information is misused and taken without providing any benefit for the users that basically give it to them. This is also free and can be taken by anyone and includes confidential or personal information of the users, most of the times, and the current systems implemented are not secure enough to provide the peace of mind for the users as well as the companies who collect them.
There is also the fact that the data collection services don't disclose what they are intending to do with the data. It is not transparent enough for us to be able to trust them and provide data that we'd gladly like to and this poses as a serious problem for both parties. No one knows where or to whom the data is being sent to or for what it is being used for and this is a major flaw in the current system.
There is also the fact that the companies who tend to collect data usually keep it to themselves and this basically becomes their property. It makes an uneven playing field, where the newcomers, aiming to bring about an innovation fall short on the data that they require for analysing and making new decisions. THe few top players and companies hold a monopoly over the data and there have been many disputes over this nicknamed as "Data Wars".
SWIPE Platform
They plan on solving the above mentioned issues by creating a platform based on the Blockchain which allows for the user generated data and information to be used and shared with those companies in need for a price. This means that the companies benefit with the use of Blockchain and the users don't give away their data for free and earn in the process.
This being powered by the Blockchain means that it's decentralised and the power of say doesn't lie in the hands of few top players and companies. Instead it lies in the hands of the users. It also makes the platform much more secure, transparent and scalable. It also makes it much more flexible in the fact that this can be implemented anywhere we'd like, existing over the current standards.
ICO & Team
They plan on powering their platform by introducing the SWIPE (SWIPE) Token which is based on Ethereum's ERC-20 Token standard. They are yet to announce the dates on their Token Sale and they plan on doing so shortly.
The Founders and rest of the team has adequate experience in Software Development, Business Management, Communication Management, Blockchain, HR, Community Management and Design respectively. The advisory board consists of renowned and experienced Business Developers, Managing Partners, COOs, Co-Founders, Advisors, Analysts, Investors, Entrepreneurs who also bring along their expertise in fields of Business Development, Blockchain, Investments and Finance.
Conclusion
They plan on making the user data, mainly mobile users, much more safer to collect and also allowing for the providers of the data to be able to get something off of it, instead of giving their data for free and not knowing where it is headed to or used for.
There are a lot of players in this field including many Blockchain based projects that have set up quite during the early days. So we can say that they are sure to face quite the competition.
They seem to have diverse team with good backing from the advisory board. Other than that we still are yet to know if the Team can provide on their promises and stay relevant during the coming days.
