Ideas welcome: how to create a token for physical goods.

Okay, I’m going to try posting this idea and see what happens.

I want to create a token for Bryce Distillery that represents physical goods, but is not a bond, currency, or otherwise a security. The goal for the token would be to tokenize food distribution sales and data. This is theoretical, and very much in the idea stage now. Any thoughts on how a token could be applied to physical goods and trade? Best blockchain to use? Advice on how to create this token? Should I create a token on ethereum.org or bitshares and figure out what to do with it later? Looking forward to brainstorming!
