ICO for Project PAI Sounds Eerily Like the Biblical Image of the Beast Prophecy!
As technology advances, new companies with new innovations will ultimately bring new products to the market place. These types of disruptors always cause a ripple effect, a chain reaction of massive change into the fabric of society.
As we continue to digitize all that is known to the material world, technology like PAI will become a new standard for basic commerce on the Internet. It is under such conditions, where a decentralized totalitarianism can take place. That's right...decentralized totalitarianism!
How does it happen? By controlling the access. The Internet is a tool, a theoretical "space" or "cloud" of information of various size, width, shape, and form. Right now, our devices are the gateway into this realm, and as such, it very much touches our physical reality. But as we become more immersed, obsessed and addicted to the digital world (psychologically and spiritually), some will be willing to do anything to continue accessing it.
This is where the totalitarian system can be installed. By demanding certain acts of worship, and to take on the branding of the entity/corporation/state on the forehead or right hand (which will ultimately lead to their inhumanity) just to access the Internet itself, all streams of online commerce can be controlled. Furthermore, the reemergence of socialism in modern times gives rise to the strong possibility that this Mark/Image requirement to access the Internet will be offered to everyone, and anyone!
There's no doubt that if the Bible is true, this data point alone in Revelation 13 makes a good case since it seems to be describing an economic system that can very much be achieved with the advent of blockchain technology. Otherwise, how is it that as we develop new and innovative tech, the prophetic language seems to fit better and better?

Yes, I think you are onto something with "decentralized totalitarianism", celebrating the individual, people will feel free in the virtual worlds where any desire is allowed and with AI avatars fulfilling needs and desires, but the gateway or entrance requirements... I think people will joyfully give over their true freedom, their worship, and take a mark...anything to be granted access to the new internet cloud beast system. Also the promise of eternal life through your AI Avatar, that will live on after your body dies in the cloud or transferred into a new android or cyborg clone body, where your conscience or spirit can be downloading into. Then there is all the DNA manipulation and technology implants. Things are getting weird, but you can see it coming together.
