Though the amount of digital content has exploded in recent years it is with a super centralised market with small number of companies controlling the majority of distribution. Distributed market places allow creators to licence their content directly to customers keeping them in full control of the rights to their content. Though creating high quality content is expensive the content can be copied and unlimited number of times with no incremental cost for each.
That is why content creators are looking for ways to promote and distribute they are work widely being wanted of reaching the maximum number of people and retaining the largest possible percentage of revenue. In that case copyright laws protect the creators but most individual photographers let the brand recognition to attract customers directly.
The current system of distributing is broken now as the content Marketplace is getting more dominant leaving the creators behind. Here replacement becomes indeed.

In order to declare ownership over photos and start licensing them photographers required to be identified with a passport or a drivers licence this verification process is already a part of our released Alpha 4 photographers in the future this may replace hour current identity management system with a distributed alternative and support multiple blockchain based on solutions for consumers.
Wemark will put efforts in making the disputes process more distributed by involving the community in some or all the decisions. Wemark will not enforce the copyrights of creators outside of the Marketplace. The blockchain will be used as the public ledger for rights and licences . creators will be able to use it as proof that they are content has or hasn't been used with a proper licence.
Photos cannot be legal used if they contain people or trademarks unless there model or Onam releases the photos for commercial use. Creator can choose to submit photos without releases. Search photos will only be available for editorial use. Ultimately photographers will be able to attract models by sharing the future revenue with them.
Wemark is introducing a dedicated token to power a direct economy for Digital content. Wemark tokens are intended to serve as a native payment system for the network and reward all the relevant parties for creating distributing and promoting digital content.
