Initial Coin Offering (ICO): Rentberry
I really enjoy reading the cryptocurrency news on Steemit but I have noticed that there seems to be a lack of content regarding initial coin offerings. I've been looking at a few of them recently and there are some really creative ideas out there for solutions to everyday problems.
First one I would like to highlight is Rentberry.

The purpose:
I, like many of my peers, am not in a position to purchase a home or condo at this point. I (hopefully) won't be in the area the 3-5 years it takes to make it worth it to buy, I enjoy not having to worry if my washer or AC unit breaks, and I don't want to be saddled with an investment property that could end up being a long way from my final destination. Would it be nice, yes, but it just isn't in the cards. 41% of American are renting...
The rental process is also very cumbersome and inefficient. One needs to find a place to live, get approved by an association, deal with realtors, set up utilities, pay a security deposit, pay rent, get insurance, etc. Even the best rental technology at present (Zillow, Rightmove, etc.) doesn't have much more functionality than a search feature.
The purpose is to break the traditional system, decentralizing and streamlining it so the whole thing can be done on one platform with transparency. It will allow seamless integration from the beginning of the rental process to the end.
For the renter it makes simplifies finding a place to live -> bidding on the rent -> signing your contracts -> and paying rent. Crowdsourcing of deposit is also a great way to free up assets and get qualified but perhaps not independently wealthy people into properties. This is a big win for the renter.
For the owner it offers a simple way to market your property and screen prospective tenants with a built in rating system to weed out the bad apples, real time bidding to keep your vacancies competitive, and most importantly reduce the time you are paying a mortgage without a tenant. Another big win for the owner.
The Team:
I like seeing teams that are fleshed out and full of practical experience. Rentberry has a solid team of 23 full time members including developers, designers, marketers, and sales professionals. Their CEO has over 9 successful years in the finance, technology, and real estate sectors. They also have investors and advisors from all over the world.
The Progress:
Rentberry is already an operational web based platform founded in 2015 with over 200,000 properties listed in over 4,000 cities. This inspires confidence to me as they have already proved the initial concept and are working to make it better using blockchain technology.
The Value:
The tokens are already on sale and the discount structure is as follows:
Where the money is to be made is in the expansion of the platform. As more people adopt it, the demand will rise and the tokens will become more valuable. If you are a renter or owner, they can be applied to transactions in the future and getting in now will hopefully represent a good value. On the other hand, you can sell them in the future, hopefully at a premium.

Overall, the reviews seem to be decent but given how far along the project is and the existing platform, it seems like a solid investment opportunity. My reservation with this ICO is the same as with all ICO's...they you are buying in to a company without getting an actual stake in it, like a stock.
I'm not a financial planner by any stretch of the imagination, so take this for what it's worth :)
I'm also not getting any funds from Rentberry for this information, nor do I hold a position in Rentberry at this time.
Useful information, thanks. Looking forward to hearing more ICO reviews from you.
Great write up keep the ICO’s coming. I enjoy the personal spin you put on each review. Have you invested in this Rentberry platform?
