The MiniApps ico is not what the name sounds like...
The Miniapps platform is geared towards getting high end technology into the hands of smaller businesses. High end technology, as it pertains to Miniapps, consists of modern messaging capabilities and AI chat bots. The chat bot seems to be the main point of the presentation as testing and development along with analytics features are included. So if, for example, you had a small business and you wanted to add some professional features to your webpage Miniapps could be for you. As a side note I am seeing more and more of these chat bots showing up, mostly on tech related websites.
Peter Matyukov is listed as "Head of the Department of Innovation" for Miniapps. I looked through his LinkedIn page. His previous work includes Eyeline Communications Inc. The Miniapps cofounder Vitaly Gumirov as well as a few other team members also have ties to Eyeline Communications inc. When I looked up the company I found a listing on Bloomberg with Vitaly's name attached. https://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=45820056 Apparently the company has been in business since 2000 according to Bloomberg's report.
I thought the Eyeline Communications connections were interesting so I looked a little further. On the official website https://eyeline.mobi/ you will see everything being promised (sms messaging, add engine, ect) as well as Miniapps. They have offices in the US and Russia as well as a number of awards.
It seems to me that Miniapps has a number of competent people on their team, including the super important (at least to me) legal advisor. There are a number of planned developments on the road map including a template market place for third party developers. The key demographic Miniapps is geared to are small business owners who have a website that they want (mainly) chat bot features added to. I don't think its the largest market in the world however I can see why a small business owner would want to use Miniapps services on their website.
This brings me to my last point, that being the use cases for the Miniapps token (MAT). First off, the MAT tokens can be used for Miniapps paid services, and there are some other things you can use them for too. Developers can use MAT tokens in order to register their templates in Miniapps space. Token holders can use MAT tokens to register miniapplications, launch a referral program and register discounts at the Miniapps shop.
In my opinion Miniapps has potential and a solid use case, however there is an element of risk involved. I encourage you to have a look at their materials and form your own opinion.
