EtherZero: what's new about Ethereum's new hardboard

The wave of forks, late last year overwhelmed bitcoin, has now reached the second most popular Ethereum network. According to the team of anonymous developers (only their names are listed in the white paper), on January 19th at block 4936270 the hard-core EtherZero took place, but so far there is not much known about the project.

For the first time ever, the EtherZero project became known at the end of December, and as it was already reported, it was a "new generation of smart contracting platform" developed by a group of professional developers of decentralized stand-alone applications (DAPP). Among the main features of EtherZero are the two-tier networking system using the Dash master-node architecture, the community's autonomous management system, zero commissions, instant transfers and, finally, high scalability.

At the same time, at the ethereum.org official website, the hard-core EtherZero does not say anything, nor does it give any comments to the network's developers.

It is curious that in the first days of January in the project branch on Bitcointalk there was a message that due to the lack of support from the community and large trading platforms, the launch of the project is canceled. After some time, this statement has been deleted, but the evidence in the network has been preserved ..

The authors of the project state that Ethereum users will receive about 116 million ETZ tokens, each of which is equal to one ETH. They also set an ambitious goal of "scraping" from Ethereum 10% of its capitalization ($ 102 billion as of Sunday evening, January 21).

Also on the project website are the logos of various exchanges and wallets that are supposed to support a new coin, but in fact none of the major platforms has reported about it. However, ETZs are already on Yobit, but the release of tokens, according to developers, will take place only on Monday, January 22.

Moreover, the MyEtherWallet wallet team has already criticized the project, stating its risks.

The Metazm team also expressed its doubts about the integrity of EthZero, naming the project site as a phishing scam. Nevertheless, EthZero developers insist that they act with the best intentions and warn of the presence of fake sites aimed at stealing user's resources: to receive ETZ it is suggested to enter private wallet keys in a special field.

Doubts and rejection of EthZero are a significant part of the community, indeed, present. It is unlikely that the anonymity of the developers is spoken in favor of the project, even though on the Facebook 7Labs IT blog, there was information about the possible connection of EthZero with the SmartPlay.tech gaming project. Indirectly, this theory is backed up by the recent statement that it is considering the launch of its own Ethereum fork, which would allow it to solve problems with network overload.

Either way, the EthZero team reports that the fork, as planned, was successful.

The next steps are launching official network nodes, token releases, mining pools and blocker monitors. Also, until the end of January, developers intend to work on improving code to ensure network stability and publish source code for trading platforms, external pools and DAPP developers.
