Well first and foremost playing with HYIP is similar to gambling where the house always an edge over your money while betting you could win and take home the jackpot. Well you could win, with or without any referrals with the proper strategy;

1. Research the HYIP, Site Security (SSL) , promoters, investment plans and marketing.
2. Only invest money, you can afford to lose, or never invest money at all.
3. Don't be greedy, I've experience a program the closes the next day to a year, which gave me a lot of profit.
