Closed and Open Hydrological Cycle

Hydrology is a branch of science in the field of geography that studies the process of water travel or the water cycle in a place. The main principle, water will naturally flow from high places to low places. Generally, the flow of water occurs at the ground surface and is usually known as surface run-off. This water flow continues to flow to lower places such as rivers, enters the soil, and is mostly absorbed by plants. The explanation of the continuous, continuous, and balanced passage of water on land such as on the land surface and in the soil, at sea, and in the air is referred to as the hydrological cycle (Kodatie, 2012).
