Now that The US Government is closed, here's what I really think.
Now that the government is shut down.
I can speak freely, but quietly.
Not that anyone is listening.
After all, we all know that FBI stands for,
"For Better Information"
and the NSA stands for,
"No Silencing Allowed"
Had anyone actually asked me?
I would have voted, "Yes, indeed... ", "Shut it down."
Might I inquire, Is there going to be another vote to open it back up again?
Or can we just vote to leave it shutdown?
Where does one vote?
Also, what do you get if you vote?
... like a free Wendy's hamburger, or something?
I sell my vote for 20 bucks every year.. come at me government.

By the second time I read this I had the vague sense that I was reading a Tom Holt passage, I even got the little fairytale narrator voice with a tinge of sarcasm in my head.
Very nice writing , and I think this could be expanded into a short maybe. At first I felt the FBI and NSA was there for no reason but on second read it ties in with the no one is listening in my opinion.

I love it, and was thinking about this last night. When they closed down in 2013 did anything change? not much, sure some parks were not looked after the same, sure some people had to wait for back pay, but and a big but, did the world stop due to government stopping, erm nope, nice work, do you want some help to get some giphs and images into your work, for some visual impact? respect from me. peace and love brother.
