If you haven’t heard, Elon Musk will be hosting Saturday Night Live (SNL) along with musical guest Miley Cyrus this Saturday, May 8th, 2021. And just the other day Elon tweeted that he’d like to receive SNL skit ideas from his followers. Being a long-time fan of the show, I’ve decided to help Elon out because, God knows, he needs all the help he can get.
So without further ado, here are my top 12 surefire, sure-to-get-laughs SNL skit suggestions for Elon Musk.
12. Billionaire Jeopardy
SNL’s Celebrity Jeopardy
Will Ferrell reprises his role as Alex Trebek on this special edition of Celebrity Jeopardy for billionaires. Elon battles against Jeff Bezos (played by Andy Samberg), Bill Gates (Anthony Michael Hall), Warren Buffet (Betty White), and Sean Connery (Darrell Hammond). One of the categories is “Space Race”. After Alex mentions this category, Sean Connery chimes in and says, “I launched your mother into space last night Trebek!” Oddly, another category called “First Wives” is completely avoided by the contestants. In the end, the billionaires squabble over the paltry prize money the show offers.
11. Bring it on down to Marijuanaville
SNL’s Bring it on Down
Joe Rogan plays a head shop owner who is looking for sign spinners to drum up foot traffic to his business. Miley Cyrus tries out dressed as a wrecking ball singing her song “Wrecking Ball” and fails. Justin Bieber tries out dressed as a lobster singing his song “Yummy” and also fails. Then Justin Timberlake, reprising his Bring it on down role, comes on dressed as a huge dope joint and says, “Bring it on down to Marijuanaville”. Impressed, Joe Rogan initially selects Justin Timberlake as the sign spinner until Elon, dressed as a Shiba Inu dog (aka the Dogecoin mascot), abruptly enters the competition and whips out his flame-throwing bass guitar. With a thunderous display of raw power, Elon ends up winning the job and torching the competition including Justin Timberlake’s dope suit. As a result, everyone gets high.
10. Super Bass-O-Matic Pitch Session
SNL’s Super Bass-O-Matic
Dan Aykroyd reprises his role as The Super Bass-O-Matic guy and Elon plays a stuffy Silicon Valley investor. Dan pitches a slew of new product ideas and pitches hard, but Elon asks even harder questions. After a brutal pitch session, Elon disses all of Dan’s wild product ideas. However, in the end, Elon is intrigued by Dan’s crazy idea to build a rocket and go to Mars, but ultimately dismisses it as a pipe dream.
9. Mr. Robinson’s Neuralized Neighborhood
SNL’s Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood
Eddie Murphy reprises his role as Mr. Robinson and yells to the person knocking incessantly at his door, “Who the hell is it?” After Eddie opens the door, Elon Musk enters the apartment and links Mr. Robinson up to a Neuralink. Once the new device is turned on, Mr. Robinson discovers that he can use his mind to manipulate people, levitate objects, bring people to orgasm, and make people urinate and defecate on themselves on command. In the end, Mr. Robinson is able to magically lift himself out of poverty by threatening people with his awesome new powers.
8. Mars Colony Disaster
SNL’s Dorian Permes
Elon has a meeting with a colony on Mars via satellite. The colonists all seem nervous for some reason when Elon asks them how they are doing. They respond by vaguely talking about the “strong radiation” on Mars and the side effects it’s having. Then Kristen Wiig enters the scene reprising her role as Dorian Permes — the tiny hands woman — and Elon realizes that all is not well with the Martian colony.
7. Schweddy Balls Factory
SNL’s Schweddy Balls
Alec Baldwin reprises his role as the Schweddy Balls guy and shows us around his new factory. Elon plays a germaphobic worker on the Schweddy Balls factory line overseen by Alec. Elon has to package a huge order of Schweddy Balls, but before he can package anything, Elon insists that all the line workers practice social distancing, wear masks, and use hand sanitizer. However, after making sure the factory is “safe”, Elon still won’t touch Alec’s Schweddy Balls.
6. Boring the Californians
SNL’s the Californians
Elon visits The Californians and while they all talk about the freeways they have to take to get home, Elon informs them about the benefits of his Boring Company, but they don’t get it. Instead, they complain that they will miss all the things they do to pass the time while stuck in traffic. More importantly, they inform Elon that traveling in a high-speed tube underground will completely destroy their tans! In the end, they tell Elon to hop on the 405 heading south and take it till it merges with the 5, and then hang a left onto the 8 after he gets close to Mexico. And when it gets hella hot and he sees coyotes munching on roadkill on the side of the road, then he should haul ass onto the 10 going east and drive for days until he’s finally back in Austin where he belongs!
5. Decision 2024
SNL’s Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton
Reprising their famous political roles, Sarah Palin (played by Tina Fey), Hillary Clinton (Amy Poehler), Donald Trump (Alec Baldwin), and Bernie Sanders (Larry David) all try to get Elon to be their running mates in 2024. In the end, Elon decides not to help any of the candidates and instead elects himself Supreme Ruler of Mars.
4. Stuart Smalley Motivates Musk
SNL’s Stuart Smalley
Al Franken reprises his role as Stuart Smalley and talks candidly to Elon. Similar to how Stuart Smalley tried to motivate Michael Jordan to become an overachiever, Stuart tries to motivate Elon to work harder to be all he can be.
3. Church Lady Gets Frisky with the Musk
SNL’s Church Chat
Dana Carvey reprises his role as the Church Lady and berates Elon for being directed by, I don’t know, maybe, SATAN! In the end, she gets frisky with Elon and propositions him.
2. Battle of the Evil Dictators
Dr. Evil from Austin Powers
Mike Myers reprises his role as Dr. Evil while Elon plays an evil competitor called Evil AI Dictator whose computerized image appears on a TV screen in a boxing ring. Dr. Evil enters the ring and the two battle it out for world domination by volleying put-downs at each other. In the end, Mini-Me (RIP Verne Troyer) runs into the ring and unplugs Elon’s TV screen which temporarily puts the Evil AI Dictator out of service. But Elon manages to turn himself back on and outsmart his competition after Dr. Evil says, “I won fair-and-square, so would somebody throw me a frickin’ bone here.” Elon takes Dr. Evil literally and uses enhanced AI telepathy to launch a real dinosaur bone at Dr. Evil and knock him out of commission.
1. Wayne’s World Tesla Giveaway
SNL’s Wayne’s World
Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reprise their Wayne’s World roles and bring Elon on as a guest for the cold opener. After chitchatting about the direction of Elon’s numerous companies, they have a giveaway.
“Tell us Don Pardo (RIP), what prizes are we offering today?”
“So glad you asked Wayne and Garth. For today’s 10th caller we’ll be giving away a Tesla Model 3, a Tesla Cyber Truck, a Tesla Semi, a ten-year Starlink service subscription, and a one-way ticket to Mars!”
They excitedly pick up the phone when the 10th caller dials in, but it’s a wrong number. The confused guy on the other end of the line simply wants to order a large extra-spicy pepperoni pizza.
To that, Garth, Wayne, and Elon all peer into the camera and say, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
