No short-cut
A shortcut is an alternative route to a destination that is shorter than the one usually taken. It is a shorter, quicker, or easier way to get to a place. Used as a metaphor, shortcut means a quicker or easier way to do something which often is not thorough or clean-cut as the the ordinary way or procedure. Today's youths are always looking for a shortcut to success. They want to succeed in school and in life without breaking a sweat. They want to have all A's in high school, graduate from college or university with a first-clsss honour, earn fat salary in employment, and climb to the apex of their career in life effortlessly, without any hard work. Their slogan is "How smart, and not how industrious."
As a youth you must guard against the get-rich-quick attitude of most young people today. Don't cut corners to attain success in your academics or in making money. Don't cheat in exams, or hire somebody to do your exams for you. God's word is very clear on cutting corners.it says that success attained through a shortcut brings only momentary joy and satisfaction, "wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase" (Proverbs 13:11) Hence to attain good and lasting succesd on life, you must use legitimate means or follow the proper procedure. Some of the legitimate means of attaining success include:
(1) Hard work (Proverbs 6:6-9; 20:4)
(2) Patience (Hebrews 10:36)
(3) Prayer (Ephesians 6:18, Philippians 4;6)
