How to Clean Kitchen Chimney Mesh Filter and Baffle Filter under 15 minutes at Home
Cleaning kitchen chimney filters every few days is a daunting task. It takes too much time of yours. Isn't i am right ? Oil get stuck in every few days of use.
Cleaning boys takes too much amount to clean the chimney filters. It is costly to get it clean every 20-25 days. Now i will show you a easy solution to clean it at home within 15 minutes.
Chimney filters are of two types : 1. Mesh filter (cassette filters) 2. Baffle filters.
Mesh filters are not easy to clean and they need to replace within few months after use. It is cheaper than baffle filter. Mesh filters needs to clean once in a week where as baffle filters are need to clean within 3 to 4 weeks.
Mesh filter is not suitable for Indian cooking because we use lots of cooking oil and spices. So, avoid if you use lots of cooking oil for making food.
I will not advise to buy these mesh filter. I prefer baffle filters.
In below video you will see how i clean both baffle and mesh filters within 15 minutes at home.
Things to require for cleaning the filters :
- Water
- 4 to 5 spoon of detergent powder (which you use for washing clothes )
- Waste toothbrush for cleaning purpose.
- Big utensil for boiling water.
Steps for cleaning chimney filters :
- Fill utensil with water and boil it. Use the large utensil in which chimney filter can be in it without any problem.
- Put 4 to 5 spoon of detergent powder on it.
- Put your chimney filter on boiling water. Don't turn off the gas burner. Let it ON until all the process is done.
- After few minutes you will see that filters start cleaning itself. Rub the toothbrush little if required.
- You will see all the oil will removed from chimney itself.
- Wash it with clean water and let it dry.
Your chimney filters are now clean as you get when you bought first time.
