How to build a wooden laundry basket ?
Hi everyone!
Few posts ago i showed you how to make new wood look like the old one. I used this technique for example to make this simple laundry basket.
First of all - measure your space for the basket. What is beautiful about things made by hand is that you can make them look like you need.
The second step is to cut the wood for the parts you need.
We will need:
four legs
eight (let's call them) crossbeams - as a part of a frame we are going to build
and so many rungs that you can fit in your legs (rather thin).
Some nails, wood glue, wood dowel pins, and in my case - some rope and proper drill will also be needed.
And yes - you have to brush it all if you want to make it look old, like i showed in last guide.
For a better design i made a holes in one of a crossbeams to put a rope in it.
You can't forget about painting as well ;)
Now when all items are ready we can connect them into a frame. Two wood dowel pins for each side of a crossbeam and every rung nailed to the legs.
Now, when we have made front and back of a basket - the same way we connect them, making sides of it - again from crossbeams and rungs.
To finish our wooden laundry basket - all we have to do is to sew a simple bag.
I hope you like the final result :) Good luck with making your own :)
nice :)
