Pierre's Darnay’s Diary
Every night I am tormented by myself. No – not me, but he is just like me. My twin brother Defarge comes to ask for possession of my body with piercing cries. Defarge drowned in December of 1938. We were 13 years old that time. Through the shells, trenches and burnt vehicles during the war Defarge guided me. When I was left alone to die in Austwich Defarge rescued me. Somehow he healed my right leg that was condemned for amputation. Later on in Brussels I discovered I was bullet proof.
After the war I took a job as an Auditor for Xanadu hotel in Las Vegas, USA. I met Rosemary we had Rob and Priscilla. This morning we said the Lord’s prayer in unity and Rob said ‘Good morning Captain of Venice.’ Only Defarge calls me that.
