A Dr. assumes the duty of carrying on research that his deceased mentor & friend left behind. What he and his family find is some bat-shit crazy spooky shit plebs.
House by the Cemetery should honestly be called Phantasm. It really blurs the lines of reality, dreams, and mystery a lot better than the actual film Phantasm. (WE LOVE PHANTASM FUCK OFF WE'RE NOT SHITTING ON IT!)
You as a viewer spend every moment trying to figure out exactly what the fuck is going on. I can say that if you want to see some satisfying conclusion, it’s just as ambiguous, bleak all the way thru. So level expectations and enjoy the ride.
Oh man you get some gnarly fucking kills here. This is a Fulci piece, so you know there's no bullshit. It’s this kind of organic FX magic, that makes you revolt at the thought of CG even being a thing now. Fucking loser ass, trick ass, cheap mother fuckers, and their nerd graphics.

If you are really serious about making film at all in the horror genre, this is one of the top shelf examples of how to do it proper. It’s not perfect, but you stay drawn in the entire time, and that’s the point of a movie.
