The Astrology of Love - Aries and Cancer

This series of posts will describe some basic traits of the energies at place between solar signs. Please keep in mind that in a personal relationship there are many other forces at work, and many astrological aspects can carry an even bigger importance than the solar sign energies.

Fire and water, a good combination. There is a deep attraction between these two individuals. The Cancer intuition will serve Aries well, while the courage of Aries will do good things for the self-esteem of Cancer. Things works best when roles are taken beforehand and respected. If anyone will try to put himself in the other shoes, there will be confusion and lack of understanding. If Aries will take the lead, leaving Cancer to silently influence things from the shadow, they’ll be just fine.

The biggest conflict potential lies in the risk-averse attitude of Cancer, in sharp contrast with the risk-prone attitude to Aries. The tension may build up very fast, because both are cardinal signs and they both have the "my way or the highway" virus deep in their installations. At times, Cancer will even try to undermine Aries courage, clinging to what is perceived as being a safer status-quo. Surprisingly, this may tone down Aries, who will indulge in the caring, mother-like vibe of Cancer every once in a while.
