The Singapore Samaritans (SOS) who launched awareness campaigns recently told SCAPE that it was an inappropriate misrepresentation of suicide and could cause trauma to young people who are still vulnerable.
"The mannequin can also be a trigger for those who have past experience of suicide," said SOS Executive Director of the Center for Suicide Prevention, Christine Wong, reported Channel NewsAsia.
Meanwhile, the SCAPE said that the mannequin was deliberately prepared as part of a publicity promotion effort Halloween attraction, Museum Horrors.
"We have received feedback on the mannequin, and after reviewing internally, we are advising that vendors will remove it from open public areas and we hope teenagers will still enjoy a fun Halloween experience at the Museum Horrors," Wong explained.
