Found Out the Years for my Waltham Pocketwatches #horology

My three Waltham pocketwatches are still with my watchmaker but I asked him to send me some photos of the movements so I could lookup the serial numbers. Here's what I found out:

Waltham Model 1888

The Waltham Model 1888 was made in Waltham, Massachusetts between 1896 and 1898. A total of 305,373 Model 1888 pocketwatches were made. Despite my hopes this one is unfortunately not a railroad watch.

Waltham Model 1908

The Waltham Model 1908 was produced in Waltham around 1918. A total of 352,099 were produced. This watch currently appears to be the most valuable of the three.

Waltham Model 1894

A total of 1,449,299 Model 1894's were produced in Waltham in 1926.

In the photo above, from left to right, are the Model 1908, 1894 and 1888. Can't wait to get these back from the watchmaker! I'll be making a post when I do with updated photos and information on the Waltham watch company and their significance and place in the history of #horology.
