Big Data
Aloha! Toward the latter half of 2015 I became intimately acquainted with tragic loss, financial hardship and compromised health. I would soon learn that these "problems" were really a manifestation of painful memories replaying in my subconscious mind, otherwise known as "data." And boy did it turn out to be some rather enormous data to face full force. My nephew had drowned at a family party less than a month after his 3rd birthday. A few months later the woman I loved moved out of our cozy west side apartment, and with the off-season there was no income. A month into the new year of 2016 I was having panic attacks, sleepless nights with digestive issues and chronic muscle pain. I had never felt so defeated in my life, and I had already been through some shit to that point.
By the grace and mercy of Divine Creator, I happened upon a YouTube video featuring Dr. Ihalekala Hew Len at a seminar in Austin TX facilitated by Internet Marketing Guru, Joe Vitale. For no particular reason, I was intrigued enough by the video, perhaps having been familiar with Joe from his appearance in The Secret many years prior. He illustrated with an eraser on a dry ink whiteboard, that as we we get filled with ideas, beliefs, opinions and programs, we move further away from Divinity, or "The Great Something" as he's come to call it. Up until that moment, all the spiritual work I'd pursued was about acquiring information (data), and here he's talking about deleting, or "cleaning" it. I was perplexed, and yet it resonated within a part of me that had been overlaid by years, if not lifetimes, of unprocessed life experiences and correlating toxic emotion.
I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. In these 4 simple phrases I'd come across in my spiritual explorations over the decades was a hidden gem of redemption and possibility, which at the time felt unattainable in the the throes of grief, heart break and despair. I shared with a good friend and mentor of mine, a man I had learned from immensely on the path. Tahwehdahqui replied to my text within a few hours and gave it his endorsement. He began practicing the cleaning, and together we began sharing it with others in our local circle, or tribe. Eventually, we began weekly meetups to inspire those who resonated with the spirit of letting go to continue the practice through life's myriad obstacles and setbacks. Nearly two years hence, I've embarked upon an advanced certification in Ho'oponopono, an offering Joe and his team put together following the release of his tremendously successful books, Zero Limits and At Zero. What a blessing to behold!
The ancient healing tradition of Ho'oponopono has been adapted to a contemporary problem-solving process based upon 3 main principles:
Everything is alive.
Everything is a reflection.
Everything can change.
These principles mandate 100% responsibility (response ability) for every thought we think, word we speak, deed we forge and action we make. Everything we perceive "out there" is showing us what's going on "in here." The entire Cosmos is contained within our consciousness, so anything we experience is a reflection of this consciousness. The vast majority of the action is below our consciousness. There's something like 15 million bits of data the brain is processing in any given moment, and the conscious mind, or intellect, is only aware of 40 bits maximum. That leaves a great deal of stuff going on that our intellectual, reasoning mind cannot comprehend. It wasn't designed to do so.
Ho'oponopono is a practice in surrender to a Higher Power, what humans have too many names for to list here. We recognize that our conscious mind is insufficient to deal with all this data. And so we petition with our conscious mind (Mother) our superconscious mind (Father) to initiate cleaning of whatever may linger in our subconscious mind (Child). In so doing, we create space for inspirations to be received from Divine Intelligence. It is these inspirations which lead us to activation of our Divine Life Purpose, and invariably bestows health, wealth and happiness. When we are unable to hear these inspirations, it is because we are stuck in the data. And as Dr. Hew Len cautions, this is not a "fast food approach" to healing. There will be fairly immediate gifts as you begin the cleaning, but it can take years, maybe the remainder of a lifetime before the true rewards are realized. Patience and perseverance with a trust in the unseen is paramount. This goes beyond belief to knowing. And to know is to in-lighten.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Romans 6:23
Peace of I,
