Amirified - Homophobic Schizophrenia in Arabs (Part 1) - Blog 8
Honestly I don't know where to start with this, maybe I should start with the New York Times article published in 2007 https://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/18/world/middleeast/18baghdad.html. Or maybe I should start by listing some of MANY events that I witnessed with acts of homosexuality occurring in Iraq, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Considering that those are the 5 Arab countries I went to. First of all Iraq before I traveled, so when I was in Iraq and money was tied after the war as my father who lived in UAE at the time didn't have a way to wire us money, I worked as a waiter in a restaurant where the owner and the head chief would occasionally sleep with each other, fast forward couple of years and I moved to UAE and I was sitting in the row before last in all boys school and I was hearing one guy giving a blowjob to another, and no I don't mean he had a bomb with him, I mean oral sex. In Qatar and Jordan I occasionally walked into the bathrooms in school and would find two guys engaging in an act of homosexuality, in Saudi Arabia I saw that reaching a new level as my friend and his cousin would often have sex in their rooms.
Let's start by an unnatural cause of homosexuality, and let me start by clearing up that I believe that homosexuals is extremely a normal thing. But yeah, what those countries have in common is: Separation between boys and girls since early age, and all the sex talk that it is to be had with those people as they grew up is simple: Don't have sex, that if any talk is to be had. Sexual frustration is a known problem in Arabs and there are many studies relating that to terrorism, one clear example is one of the men responsible for 9/11 was seen in a strip club the night before the explosion, the other example is the Orlando shooting but more on that in a later article. Now sexual frustration met with lack of sexual education is considered an unnatural cause of homosexuality, which is why a religious conversion therapy is popular in Arab countries, though it pretty much serves as an example of Post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy as the conversion is caused by the man going to his original sexual preference. Basically Imagine yourself going through puberty without education and you're surrounded by boys while having boners that you can't get rid off since masturbation is a sin.
There's another in common between all of those guys engaging in homosexual activities: They all hate gay people. In fact in Qatar my classmates were extremely triggered by a group of three people who owned up to their same sex sexual preference and would often beat them up. A famous incident I witnessed was this guy beating up one of them after getting a blowjob from the man. And while beating up the guy he was saying all those different homophobic slurs, the irony isn't missed by me either.
The cause of such contradictory behaviors should be clear to those with knowledge regarding the Arab world, the laws were to execute homosexuals were pushed by people before it was by government. The clear fact is, you take a growing kid with homosexual tendencies and have him pray five times and read a holly book filled with words from god that says homosexuality is an unrepentant sin, add to that a society starting from the home that agrees with that statement, and you get a case of self denial, that self denial happens outside the realms of their sexual activities of the homosexual nature. So basically aside from the time they're having same sex intercourse they are fully against it.
While I haven't witnessed the depth of such self denial in other countries by much, It was in Iraq where I got first hand look at it, people who would occasionally engage of such behaviors would always be furious should they be referred to as "Gay" or "Homosexual" so much so they're willing to fight to show otherwise, the basic rationality behind that is you can't be a man while being gay, the flamboyant image of homosexuals is the only picture Arab Muslims can see in a gay man and living in a country where "being a man" is essential in surviving makes it unlikely for a homosexual man to label themselves gay, in fact the Arab popular terms for Homosexuals is "شاذ" and "منحرف جنسياً" which in basic language the most polite way to describe the first one is out of the ordinary, while the second means sexually perverted, It is highly unlikely for an acceptance to occur when even the language doesn't shed a positive light on the meaning.
In the end lack of sexual education, accompanied by religious and society nonacceptance of the homosexuals leads to a general anti-homosexuals atmosphere that leads many to remain in the closet, and even with the secret's out it leads to self denial or as I would refer to it homophobic schizophrenia, the danger of that is shown through violence that is pretty much allowed and encouraged by governments and high influential religious scholars leading to an increasing dangerous increase of crimes committed to homosexuals or any group seen as such, I should point out that after the war and global rise of emo styled clothing and haircuts were devastating for teens in Iraq as many were kidnapped, tortured and stoned to death with no punishment to the people committing those crimes (Source: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-iraq-emo-killings/iraq-militia-stone-youths-to-death-for-emo-style-idUSBRE8290CY20120310)
Also a notable most recent example is the death of "The most beautiful man in Iraq" Karar Al-Nushi, Or Karar Nushi in short
The man was tortured and killed for being gay, which he wasn't. Usually it wouldn't matter that he isn't but it matters in the sense of exposing the level of brutality such animals are willing to reach, it would take one google search to find out what happened to the guy.
Thank you for addressing what is perhaps one of the largest scale acceptable form of human rights violations and oppressions. homophobia in conservative nations, especially modern Islam, is a form of fascism that the rest of the world accepts under the guise of cultural relativism. The truth is, any government that turns a blind eye to these acts of violence, and most muslim countries cases; participate in the murder of its own citizen for their sexual orientation, is an criminal government and must be addressed by the united nations and mustn't be allowed to continue abusing the rights of its own citizens.
Exactly. I’m baffled by SJWs in the west defending these acts under “religious freedom”. Don’t get me wrong I’d be against people discriminating against Muslims in any form. Even those who hold extremely anti-homosexual beliefs. But people don’t seem to understand the difference between the right to believe what you want with committing heinous actions in the name of your belief. Arab governments don’t turn their back on homosexuals being attacked, in fact they are front and center in those abuses. Countries like Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iraq have laws allowing anyone to kill gay people.
I think it is perfectly fine to discriminate against people who choose to hold on and uphold belief systems that call for violence against a minority. muslims have to own up to the fact that their religion of choice is filled with violence and oppression, and just because it is a "religion" does not shield it from criticism or reform.
anyway, thank u for spreading the truth. I personally will boycott all those governments, and I hope they all continue to collapse until they fundamentally change and uproot this god awful religion of theirs.
