RE: Transitioning from City Life to Country Living

in #homesteading7 years ago

1st of all congrats on making the move! It's a huge step... we thought we lived in the country before up in Northern IL but it was still a shock, we are still the outsiders here in Southern KY. We have been here two years now, and things are much better, we now have a small group of good friends and neighbors. My suggestion is find a good church, get involved. That will lead you to other oportinities. Ask a lot of questions about how to do stuff, where is the besy deal on stuff is and so on. Always be willing to help a neighbour! It will pay you back 10 fold. Best of luck to you please keep us posted

Oh, our neighbors are the BEST. There is one family we have really connected with, and they are the most encouraging, kind folks I met in a long time. We also make some cool connections by going to our local farmers' market...and there's lots of wisdom to glean there, too! Thanks so much for your comment, and happy adventuring on your land, too!

I also see from your profile that you do permaculture--that's our plan, too! I'll snoop around your posts, haha, but what structures and systems do you have established? We love learning about this.

Feel free to snoop! If there is anything we can do to help just let us know!
