Why Haven't We Been Cutting our Grass?????
It is May 8th almost halfway through the year and we still hadn't cut our grass yet. There are two main reasons for doing this #1 is that we have around 5 bee hives on the property and they love the clover and wildflowers and number two is we haven't had any time with all the projects and other stuff we have been doing lately. As you can see when you don't cut your grass until a third of the way through May it gets pretty tall.
However there are drawbacks to having the yard so tall. We started noticing that we were getting more and more ticks on us when we would go out in the yard. So unfortunately today I had to fire up the mower for the first time this year and cut the grass.

Ticks, yuck! Do you have any animals to help maintain the tick population?
The turkey do a pretty good job at the pasture but we don't like them in the yard. They poop and eat our plants instead of ticks!
