Sawmill unboxing - Woodmizer LT15
Well, I started uncrating the new sawmill today and I'm already a bit disappointed in Woodmizer unfortunately. This thing is supposed to include a variety of books and manuals and build instructions. But, I got nothing. It was even supposed to come with two Woodmizer hats. I won't be working on building it without instructions this weekend. They don't even offer instructions on their website electronically which is insane. I guess I'll be calling them Monday to see when I can get that info.
Overall I'm still excited and can't wait to get to making sawdust, but this thing is a lot of work to put together first.
The first question I get is what are going to build. Well, a shed to put my sawmill in of course :)
Stay tuned...

Update: I found the manual inside an access panel in the sawmill!

Thanks @qberry. I hope one day to have my own portable mill, even if it's just a chainsaw based one. I can see so many uses for it. Will be enthusiastically waiting for further updates.
Thank you. I will be updating as I go. I tried a chainsaw mill and it worked very well. For me the drawback was that I still needed a $1000 chainsaw to do what I wanted but if you have a great saw it's a good way to go.
Excellent work I liked it so much I wish I could continue your work on this as I will give you all the support I hope you will support me if possible Thank you for your time
@goldenkingdom
I have always wanted a sawmill. Once you get it together I look forward to hearing how it works for you.
Will do. I'm pretty dang excited.
Good investment we bought a saw mill for our farm when we started. Has saved us a lot of money and has paid itself off years ago.
Good deal, that's what I explained to the wife 😉
Are you woodworker ?
I'm about to be 😀. Honestly, I like to work with wood but I'm not a skilled carpenter. I have a lot of timber and trees are always coming down in storms Soni want o make use for them to build sheds and a barn.
I am also the same. wkwkwkw
here I split the logs and sell them. but I do not use sophisticated machines. try to see in my post there I show photos of my business
I just saw your post on that. That is really hard work. I used a chainsaw mill before and even it was hard work. Hopefully this will be easier for an old man 😉
here no one is using a tool or machine like you. probably because the cost is expensive. I am just 2 years into this business
Indeed, but the cost of lumber is much more expensive here too. These can be used to make money in my area.
so true. in the future I want to build a furniture business. but that takes a long time maybe. sorry I sell wood with cheap. and they make furniture with expensive selling points
I look forward to see your project progress. I caught the Natural Building Bug a few years back and have decided to devote this coming summer to travel around America getting certified in all its processes.
Thank you for the product feedback as well. I prefer reviews through word of mouth and every little bit of info. is very helpful.
Thank you. That's a great initiative. I love learning new things and Steemit seems to be the place for it. I'm in welding classes now and starting blacksmithing next month! Good luck with your travels and learning. Looking forward to seeing it.
Thank you, my friend. I bought a cheap welder and taught myself. It comes in very handy when you have the tools available.
I just noticed you upvote every comment. Do you understand how Voting Power works? If not, each vote uses about 2% of your power and you power back up around 20% in a 24hr period. This means you can only upvote 10 times a day to power back up to 100% the next. So, I never upvote one line comments and if I have a longer thread, only upvoting the 1st comment is acceptable. If I am low on VP, I'll not upvote anything until I power back up. Just something to think about.
Yes. It was one of the first things I read to help grow followers was to upvote every comment on your post. Sometimes I do replies as well. I usually only do it at 5 or 10 percent so it doesn't affect my vp too much. It helped to create a loyal following but now I'm having to back off a bit just due to the volume, or maybe I will go down to 1%. I appreciate you mentioning it to help me out. I will be keeping a much closer I now that I'm following the Qurator trail.
Here's a link for you to check out.

When you get it up and running, I would love to see lots of photos. Not sure if it is something I can use here on my homestead. I think I need a few extra hands to help out!
Definitely will be uploading pics soon. I don't have any other hands to help me but I have a tractor to do heavy lifting. My neighbor is 79 years old and got one, but his has hydraulics so he never has to hardly lift a finger for anything. Mine is referred to as a manual. Thanks.
