Allotment24 - Hazel Trimming For Squash Frame
Today I shall be trimming the Hazel to size in preparation to create a pea Tee Pee or a Squash growing frame.
The Hazel was kindly donated by the Community Garden that I volunteer for = D
First I chopped the heads off the larger peices which left me with 7 longer poles.
I then trimmed the top sections and made a bundle of smaller poles. I was surprised at how many smaller piles there were from just the tops! I nearly discarded all the top bits as well!
Just need to decide what to do with them now!
I wonder if they will start growing if you stick them in the ground the right way up...?
Not sure! I hope not I don't want my peas interwoven with catkins 😂😂
